Future volunteer firefighters receive hands-on training
Syracuse, NY — The 140th Annual Convention of the Firemen’s Association of the State of New York continued Thursday with a day for youth who are interested in volunteering.
The fourth annual Youth Day allowed would-be volunteer firefighters, between the ages of 14 to 19 years old, to experience hands-on drills and demonstrations. The youth participated in activities such as tower drills, fire suppression demonstrations and rescue training.
Youth Day was held at the Syracuse Fire Department Training Facility on State Fair Boulevard. Friday is the last day of the four-day convention.
