Firefighter videos wanted for contest

The Firemen’s Association of the State of New York is looking for volunteer firefighters in New York state to compose a short video highlighting their personal story, using a smartphone or webcam.

Winners in the video contest will be part of a first-of-its-kind, statewide advertising campaign designed by Syracuse-based ABC Creative Group that will roll out across all forms of media this summer.

The submission deadline for video entries is Friday, April 13.

This campaign was made possible by a $4.2 Million U.S. Department of Homeland Security Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response grant.

Winners will be notified by April 18, and if chosen, filming is scheduled to begin at the end of April in Central New York.
