Youths gather for FASNY’s annual training day

COLONIE, N.Y. – The 5th Annual Youth Firefighting Training Day will be held Thursday morning.

Fireman’s Association of the State of New York (FASNY) President James Burn, Albany County DA Soares, Colonie Town Supervisor Mahan and emergency response officials will take part in this event.

About 100 fire department explorers and juniors will take part in firefighter evolutions and exercises. This is part of FASNY’S 141st Annual Convention.

During Thursday’s event, Soares and Mahan will unveil two houses that have been donated to be used as search and rescue training facilities.

Youth Firefighting Training Day will begin at 11AM at the Town of Colonie Municipal Training Center.
