Winter Weekend Events

* The Firemen’s Association of the State of New York (FASNY) will kick off its 10th Anniversary Firefighter Winter Games in Cortland, New York Friday, February 6th. More than 300 firefighters from across New York State, including many from Nassau and Suffolk counties, dressed in full turnout gear, will participate in a host of events throughout the weekend, including perennial favorites: Tubing, Sled Pull, Tug-O-War, Hose Race and Broomball. The 2015 Games represent the largest field of competitors to date, and the competition is intense. The games’ fierce Fire Departments competition for superiority allows firefighters to hone important training skills. For example, the Hose Relay Event reinforces firefighters’ training on how important speedy, efficient and close teamwork is when fighting a fire.

The venue is the Greek Peak Mountain Resort 2000 Route 392 Cortland and the SUNY Cortland Park Center Alumni Arena, Corner of Stratton and Folmer Drive, Cortland.
