State Firefighters Winter Games This Weekend
The Firemen’s Association Of The State Of New York (FASNY) is holding Firefighter Winter Games this weekend in Cortland, and a number of local fire departments are participating.

“STATE FIREMEN’S ASSOCIATION HOLD FIREFIGHTER WINTER GAMES IN CORTLAND FEB. 8-10
The Firemen’s Association of the State of New York (FASNY) will kick off its Firefighter Winter Games with a trip to Cortland, NY on Friday, February 8. Co-sponsored by the Cortland County Firemen’s Association, more than 200 firefighters from across New York State, dressed in full turnout gear, will participate in this event. Fierce competition during the day among the firefighters participating in the games is enhanced with immeasurable camaraderie after each of the events. While the games are meant to be fun and sporting, there is a definite training aspect to the games. Every year, the winner of each event is honored in The Volunteer Firefighter magazine. All participants in the Winter Games receive medals and the top three teams in each event receive trophies.
