State firefighters honor Newfane volunteer

NEWFANE, NY – A Niagara County firefighter is being honored after decades of serving his community.

Marty Horanburg was presented today with the Fire Service Community Achievement Award from the state firemen’s association.

He’s protected Newfane for 48 years as a member of the Miller Hose Volunteer Fire Department… but it’s his work in the community that gained him recognition… serving on the Eastern Niagara Hospital board of directors, the town’s business association, booster club, and as the “Voice of Newfane,” calling the high school’s football and basketball games.
