In Memoriam: Peyton Morse & Jared Lloyd

The officers and members of the Firemen’s Association of the State of New York grieve for the untimely passing of Firefighter Peyton Morse of the La Fargeville Fire Department and Firefighter Jared Lloyd of the Spring Valley Fire Department.

Their dedication to the volunteer fire service represents the embodiment of the principles of honor, loyalty and service. We extend our condolences to their families, friends and brother and sister firefighters.

Gone too soon but never forgotten.

“I have no ambition in this world but one, and that is to be a fireman. The position may, in the eyes of some, appear to be a lowly one. But we who know the work which the fireman has to do believe that his is a noble calling. Our proudest moment is to save lives. Under the impulse of such thoughts, the nobility of the occupation thrills us and stimulates us to deeds of daring, even of supreme sacrifice.”
