Gov. Cuomo vetoes bill to legalize some fireworks
On a day when Gov. Andre Cuomo signed more than 90 bills into law, and vetoed other propositions, he ruled out proposed changes to the state’s fireworks laws.
The Fireman’s Association of the state of New York strongly opposed the measure prior to the vote, citing the number of fires and fireworks-related injuries that could result from the use of even minor fireworks.
The bill was proposed by Joseph D. Morelle, Donna A. Lupardo, and Kenneth Zebrowski.
