Firefighter’s association to hold winter games this weekend in Cortland

Cortland, NY — The sixth annual Firefighter Winter Games will be held this weekend in Cortland.

More than 200 firefighters are expected to compete in a variety of events in full turnout gear, according to the Firemen’s Association of the State of New York.

The weekend begins 5 p.m Friday with a kick-off party at the Crown City Steakhouse at the Cortland Ramada Inn,

On Saturday, events move to Greek Peak Mountain Resort, 2000 state Route 392, 2 River St., Cortland, where there will be tube races from 9 a.m. to noon, a hose relay competition from 1 to 2:30 p.m. and a tug-of-war competition from 2:30 to 4 p.m.

On Sunday, a mini broomball tournament will be held 9 a.m. at the SUNY Cortland Alumni Area. An awards ceremony will follow the tournament.
