Firefighter recruitment video features volunteers from Clay, Moyers Corners
Syracuse, NY – A recruitment video from the Fireman’s Association of the State of New York features firefighters from Central New York.
The 9-minute video, “Fire in Me,” premiered today at the association’s 140th annual convention in Liverpool. The Clay Fire Department was honored this morning at the convention for participating in the video and hosting the video shoot at their department. The video also features firefighters the Moyers Corners Fire Department and members of the Northern Onondaga Volunteer Ambulance.
The video was paid for by a Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response grant. FASNY was awarded the $4.2 million federal SAFER grant to fund activities and programs to recruit and retain more than 15,000 volunteer firefighters and EMS personnel across the state.
The recruitment video is part of FASNY’s statewide advertising campaign, which includes commercials that highlight volunteer firefighters and their experiences. The “Fire in Me” video and the commercials were filmed at the Clay fire department in May.
FASNY’S four-day conference, which is hosted by the Onondaga County Volunteer Firemen’s Association Convention Committee, ends Friday. To learn more about volunteering, visit fireinyou.org.
