Explorers attend FASNY Youth Day

The Fairville Explorer Post No. 751 and advisors attended training on Aug. 21 at the town of Colonie Municipal Training Center in Albany for the FASNY Youth Day.

The evolutions were as follow: Station 1 – Engine Company Ops., Station 2 – A-Draft Ops B-Hydrant Ops, Station 3 – Propane Simulator, Station 4 – Mask Confidence Maze. Following the evolutions the instructors performed a Live Propane Simulator Evolution Demonstration and they went to the Desmond Convention Center to hear the guest speaker Timothy Sendelbach speak on the “Observations from 30,000 feet.”

The FASNY Youth Day event was attended by 45 youths and 26 advisors. Housing was provided free of charge by the Shaker Road-Loudonville Fire Department for advisors and explorers.

Fairville explorers who attended were Victoria Dean, Bryce Premo and E.J. Camp along with advisors Nickolas Loomis, Chief of the Fairville Fire Department, and Meredith Graf.
