Deadline for FASNY tuition reimbursement program rapidly approaching

WATERTOWN — Students interested in enrolling in the Firemen’s Association of the State of New York Higher Education Learning Plan, which provides community college tuition reimbursement to student volunteers in good standing, need to register by Feb. 6 for the spring semester.

The goal of the program, which is funded by a grant from the Department of Homeland Security, is to help recruit and retain volunteers. It allows students who are volunteer firefighters to be reimbursed for up to 80 credit hours if they maintain their grades.
