CORTLAND, NY — More than 300 firefighters from across New York state will compete this weekend in the 10th anniversary of the Firemen’s Association of the State of New York winter games.
Registration is held Friday and the games are held on Saturday and Sunday. The games are hosted by the Cortland County Firemen’s Association.
Firefighters dressed in full turnout gear, will participate in a host of events throughout the weekend, including tubing, sled pull, tug-o-war, hose race and broomball.
The 2015 games will represent the largest field of competitors to date.
The events feature fierce competition and camaraderie among the different departments.The competition between fire departments allows firefighters to practice important training skills and work with their teams, according to FASNY.
The events will be held at Greek Peak Mountain Resort and State University of New York Cortland Park Center Alumni Arena on the Cortland College Campus. Spectators are welcome.

Friday
5 to 7 p.m.: Registration at Country Inn and Suites, 3707 NYS Route 281, Cortland
Saturday
8:30 a.m.: Registration for Daytime Events at Greek Peak Adventure Park &Tubing Center
9 a.m. to 12 p.m.: Tubing at Greek Peak
9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.: Sled Pull at Greek Peak
1 to 2:30 p.m.: Hose relay at Greek Peak
2:30 to 4 p.m.: Tug of War Greek Peak
Sunday
7 a.m.: Registration at Park Center Alumni Arena – SUNY Cortland
7:30 to 11 a.m.: Broomball Tournament – Park Center Alumni Ice Arena
11 a.m.: Awards Ceremony at Alumni Ice Arena
