Candella Named FASNY Teacher Of The Year

Whitesboro, NY (WIBX) – A Whitesboro teacher has been named the Firemen’s Association of the State of New York’s Teacher of the Year.

Marcy’s Paula Candella, a first grade teacher at Westmoreland Road Elementary School, was nominated by Whitesboro Fire Chief Peter Sobel and FASNY Director Brian McQueen.

At a ceremony today she was credited with not only teaching students safety awareness but also with making children unafraid of fire fighters and others in uniform during crises and emergencies.
