An Important Message to all Full Company Members

As the Chairman of the Membership Committee, I would like to thank you for your continued membership in FASNY. We strive to maintain, support, and serve the volunteer fire service of New York, its firefighters and the public they protect through education, legislation, communication and recognition while keeping membership dues reasonable and affordable. Your FASNY Member Services Committee has been working very hard to provide the very best benefits to you, the membership, for your enrollment in the Full Company Membership Program.

FASNY is proud to announce a new benefit for our member firefighters enrolled in Full Company Membership as well as Individual Members, a 24-hour Accidental Death & Dismemberment Policy. Please refer to www.fasny.com for more details on all our outstanding benefits.

Beginning in November, dues renewal notices went out to organizations enrolled in the Full Company Membership Program. To maintain our commitment to fire and EMS providers of New York, our Full Company Membership fee will increase by $5.00 to $10.00 per member annually in 2012. This increase, the first in our Full Company Membership since the program began in 2003, is as small as possible, and still is 33% less than the cost of an Individual Membership. We understand that any membership rate increase, however minimal, may raise issues for some organizations; however, the benefits well outweigh the increase. There are also other member benefits being developed which will only enhance your membership, so I ask that when you receive your renewal notice, you continue to enroll all the members of your organization as Full Company Members.

Should you have any questions regarding the Full Company Membership Program or any other program FASNY offers, please feel free to contact one of the FASNY Membership Committee members, Vice Chairman Rebecca Franklin, Central NY; Anthony Faso, Southwestern NY; William Lennon, Northern NY; Kevin McElynn, Southern NY; Marilyn Schrader, Hudson Valley NY; Harold Wollaber, Western NY; and myself, Chairman Eugene Perry, Southern NY. Our liaison to the Board of Directors is FASNY Director Edward Tase. Harrison Breuer is FASNY’s Member Outreach Coordinator and can be reached at the FASNY office. Any one of these people is thoroughly versed in FASNY’s programs and benefits and will be able to assist you in any questions for may have.

As one of the oldest volunteer organizations in the state, FASNY has built a tradition of serving fire service volunteers. Again, I thank you for your continued membership and being part of an organization that seeks to strengthen the foundations of the volunteer fire service in New York.

Eugene Perry, Jr.
