Achievers: Hamilton College students earn scholarships

The followings students at Hamilton College were awarded scholarships:

Christopher R. Bousquet, son of Lauri Pepe and Laurence Bousquet, of Syracuse, Robert Leet Patterson Prize Scholarship. He is a junior majoring in government and philosophy, and is a graduate of Christian Brothers Academy;Anna N. Do, daughter of Vincent Do and Catherine Tran, of Syracuse, Adam Gordon Poetry Prize. She is a freshman and is a graduate of Christian Brothers Academy; Sawyer A. Konys, son of Richard and Caren Konys, of Fayetteville, Michael T. Genco Jr. He is a junior majoring in art, and is a graduate of Fayetteville-Manlius High School; John S. Rufo, son of Laura Spring and David Rufo, of Fayetteville, Doris M. and Ralph E. Hansmann Poetry Prize, the George A. Watrous Literacy Prize and Thomas E. Meehan Prize. He is a junior majoring in creative writing, and is a graduate of Manlius Pebble Hill School; Joseph G. Rupprecht, son of Mark Rupprecht and Nina Tamrowski, of Clay, Rose B. Tager Prize. He is a freshman and is a graduate of Christian Brothers Academy; andMason W. Schoeneck, son of Margery and Henry Schoeneck, of Jamesville, Senior Prize. He is a senior majoring in biochemistry/molecular biology, and is a graduate of Jamesville-DeWitt High School.

Makenzi Herbst, daughter of Matt and Julia Herbst, of Skaneateles, was awarded the New York Water Environment Association (NYWEA) Scholarship. She is majoring in environmental engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

The following students at Rochester Institute of Technology were awarded scholarships:

Jason Liu, son of Michele McBride-Liu and Oliver Liu, of Baldwinsville, received the RIT Presidential Scholarship. He is majoring in mechanical engineering, and is a graduate of C.W. Baker High School; and Brandon Simmons, son of Greg and Joan Simmons, of Syracuse, received an RIT Presidential Scholarship and an RIT Computing Medal Scholarship. He is majoring in electrical engineering, and is a graduate of Westhill High School.

Robert Mayers, of Marcellus, was awarded Firemen’s Association of the state of New York volunteer scholarship. He is a student at Onondaga Community College, and is a graduate of Marcellus High School.

Jennifer Fulford, of Syracuse, a student at Onondaga Community College, was awarded the 2015 Senior Care Innovation Scholarship by A Place for Mom.

The following students at Upstate Medical University were awarded the nursing alumni scholarship:

Carly Detor, of Syracuse, Carl H. Neuman/Eastwood Rotary Nursing Scholarship; Delphine M, Hyppolite, of Liverpool, Suzanne Spaulding-Gehrke Nursing Scholarship; Florence Mandebvu, of Syracuse, Eugene and Alice G. Szigeti Nursing Scholarship; and Margaret McDonnell, of Syracuse, Nursing Alumni Scholarship.

Jaclyn M. Keleher, of Manlius, received the Gaylord Specialty Healthcare Carissa Neubig Scholarship. She is majoring in physical therapy at the School of Health Sciences at Quinnipiac University (Conn.).

Katherine Krebs, daughter of Michael and Charmaine Krebs, of Skaneateles, won the Syracuse Chorale’s 2015 Voices of Tomorrow Scholarship. She is majoring in music education at Skidmore College, and is a graduate of Skaneateles High School.

The following students at Syracuse University won Maxwell School competition scholarships:

Keelie Hotchkiss, of Memphis, majoring in forensic science and is a graduate of Jordan Elbridge High School; and Jessica Vinciguerra, of Syracuse, majoring in cultural anthropology and is a graduate of Syracuse Academy of Science Charter School.
