Beacon—FASNY’s custom-built support chatbot—is designed to give members quick, accurate answers whenever they need them, right from their phone or computer.
A chatbot is simply a digital helper you can talk to, just like sending a text message, that gives you quick answers. Beacon is a subtle tribute to the fire service – just like beacons, lights, and guiding markers on the job – Beacon, the chatbot, is a guiding tool.
Beacon was built to not need special skills, apps, or any tech knowledge. Simply type a question, get a response, and have a full conversation if needed.
Beacon serves as a 24/7 guide that volunteers can ask questions about training, benefits, membership resources, recruitment, and more. Its goal is simple: make access to information fast, friendly, and frictionless. When Beacon gets stumped, the tool knows enough to point you in the right direction in terms of contact information.

How to Use Beacon — FASNY’s Support Chatbot

- Type your question — anything from membership help to benefits info.
- Beacon will respond immediately. If you need more clarity, keep the conversation going just like you would with a person.
