NYS Legislature Passes Tax Credit Bill

FASNY applauds the New York State Legislature for passing the volunteer firefighter tax credit bill through both houses. This legislation provides meaningful relief to the 80,000 volunteer firefighters who serve communities across New York, helping offset the rising costs of service, including fuel, training, and equipment. It is an important step forward in advancing FASNY’s 14-Point Volunteer Firefighter Recruitment and Retention Plan and strengthening the future of New York’s volunteer fire service. With the bill now awaiting delivery to Governor Hochul’s desk, we are confident she will recognize its importance.
