FASNY Election For Second Vice President

NOTICE OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE MEMBERS OF THE FIREMEN’S ASSOCIATION OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK

Pursuant to the order of the Board of Directors of the Firemen’s Association of the State of New York (FASNY or Corporation), the NPCL and the Bylaws of the Firemen’s Association of the State of New York, a special meeting of members of the Corporation will be held via remote electronic means due to Covid-19. The meeting will commence at 2 P.M. on October 17, 2020 and conclude on October 17, 2020. The purpose of the meeting is to act on the matter of the election of the Second Vice President and the transaction of such business as may be properly brought before the meeting.

Voting by members for the position of Second Vice President will occur by mail-in paper ballot only. Individual and organizational members in good standing on September 21, 2020 are eligible to vote. Individual members who registered for the previously scheduled August 8, 2020 Annual Meeting or electronic Annual Meeting on August 22, 2020 will automatically receive a ballot. Organizational members that previously returned their Delegate Designation Form, registered for the previously scheduled August 8, 2020 Annual Meeting or the August 22, 2020 electronic Annual Meeting, will automatically receive a ballot.

Individual members or organizational members that did not register for the previously scheduled August 8, 2020 Annual Meeting or the August 22, 2020 electronic Annual Meeting, and organizational members that did not previously return their Delegate Designation Form, may request a ballot from August 24, 2020 through September 21, 2020. Ballot requests will be honored if made to FASNY by: letter to FASNY, 107 Washington Avenue, Albany, NY 12210; fax to 518-426-0139; email to secretary@fasny.com; or by phone 518-434-0987. Ballots will be sent to individual members at their address of record. Ballots will be sent to organizational members at the organization’s address of record.

Ballots must be returned by mail in the supplied Return Envelope and must be postmarked no later than October 7, 2020.

** Important Election Information**

  • The election for Second Vice President will be by mail-in, paper ballot only.
  • Individual members who registered for the August 22, 2020 Annual Meeting will automatically receive a ballot.
  • Organizational members who returned their Delegate Designation Form by July 31 will automatically receive a ballot.
  • Individual and organizational members who did not meet the above deadlines can still request a ballot from
    August 24 to September 21, 2020:
    • Ballots can be requested by mail, fax, phone, email or on the FASNY website;
    • All ballots will be sent to the address on file with FASNY.
  • Ballots must be returned by mail and be in the supplied Ballot Return Envelope.
  • Ballots must be postmarked by October 7, 2020.
