The Fire Prevention and Life Safety Poster Contest
Annually, the FASNY Poster Contest targets students in grades K— 5. The contest provides a way for students to express their knowledge of fire prevention and life safety by designing an original poster. Each year thousands of entries are received, and the winners are selected by the Fire Prevention and Life Safety Committee.
The FASNY Calendar is developed by using 13 of the posters submitted
from the poster contest. The calendar includes fire prevention and life
safety information each month, and can be used in the classroom or
home as a basis for fire safety lessons. Schools receive a set amount
of complimentary calendars each year, and more can be purchased by contacting the FASNY office. Each year thousands of calendars are
distributed. Other entries for the contest are used to make coloring
books and placemats, as well as many other fire prevention and life
safety educational and promotional materials.
